Local artists showed of their talent and work last Saturday during the Spring Art Tour 2015. Held in 11 venues in Barrie, the event showcased a variety of mediums by nearly 40 artists.

Art club hosts open house

The Barrie Art Club hosts an open house Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. to launch its October exhibitions.
The featured artist is Brian Ayotte.
Although creating primarily with acrylic, Ayotte has often incorporated recycled materials, such as Styrofoam, ceramic tile and various metals, into his work.
Ayotte has completed over 250 pieces, most of which are in private collections in Canada, eastern Europe and the United States.
This is Ayotte’s first show in Barrie.
The guest artist, hanging in Le Loovre, is Jo Appleby.
Appleby’s landscapes often employ colour in a dynamic yet calming, serene manner.
